What does English Culture mean?

Cristina and I wanted to show you our video. We interviewed some people last Wednesday because we wanted to know what they think British Culture means. Our interview took place on the premises of the University. The following people are those who were interviewed that day:

Atia Cárdenas
Gerson Flores
Catalina Olavarría

Paulina Wall
Olaya Vásquez
Mónica Cárdenas

Mr. Pablo Villa
“Culture should be regarded as the set of distinctive spiritual, material, intellectual and emotional features of society or a social group, and that encompasses, in addition to art and literature, lifestyles, ways of living together, value systems, traditions and beliefs.” (UNESCO)
Most of the people recognize the music, literature, and traditions as an important part of the British Culture, but apparently not all of them know where those traditions come from. As the United Kingdom is "a country of countries" has many customs that come from the different places.

Fortunately, we as students of this University have the opportunity to learn in detail which elements implies this culture and how deep are their contributions to the world and to our society. That was the objective of the interview.

Finally, What have you learnt about British Culture these days?

We hope you enjoy it.

Cristina Fuentes, Melanie Lizana.

  1. I like the video because it does not present the typical questions we could ask about British culture and were very interesting. It is increasingly evident that most of the people interviewed have almost the same idea about this culture. Obviously, everyone has their different opinions on an issue, but more importantly, it shows us that the power of this culture is so strong, protected and respected that all of us will always know the value of their traditions, their history, their music, his influence, among others.
